Bulgaria’s old capital and the place of fantastic historic fights occupies a remarkable hillside place with the Yantra river winding with it. The whole town is postcard quite in any season, though spring and fall are the best for sightseeing as Tarnovo is also among the country’s best locations in the summertime and among the coldest in winter season.
The fairly well kept medieval Tsarevets citadel is one of the most seen historic website in the country. There is a lot more to see in Veliko Tarnovo than Tsarevets, however, and those vacationers which only visit in their air-conditioned trainers to tick off this box are missing the laid-back setting of this charming community.
